SOURCE: 2014 freightliner cascadia, dd13 showing an active code mil lightDiag, says ecu 01 , what can that be
the code dd13 for a detroit series 60 refers to coolant level sensor ---input voltage low
should be in the radiator top tank and energizers when the coolant level in the cooling system falls below a set point in the radiator
contact a service dealer for a diagnosis and information as to the fix.

SOURCE: 2012 freightliner cascadia DD15 fault code ECU 1... prior to the fault code the engine bogged down really bad and solid yellow and check engine light come on.
an answer from just answers reports this
ecu 1 fault means the engine ECM has an internal fault and needs to be replaced
most of the time with this code it is not the ECM itself but usually a wiring problem going to the ECm
there should be 2 fuses for the ECM either next to the ecm in plastic covers by a starter or in a plastic box
check all wiring going to and from the engine and battery grounds
especially the grounds
check for wires rubbed through and loose terminals
take it to a service dealer for a proper diagnosis as it costs money wasting time trying to find the fault yourself as a truck standing still is not earning it's keep

SOURCE: 2012 freightliner cascadia engine code ECU 1. What does this mean
Ecu 1 fault means the engine EMC has a internal fault and needs to be replaced. Most of the time with this code It's not the ecm itself it's usually a wiring problem going to ECM. Their should be two fuses for ECM either next to ECM in plastic covers or by starter or in battery box. So you need to check all your wiring going to and from engine ECM (it's on drivers side of engine) and all your engine, starter, and battery grounds. Most of the time its a bad ground wire so take your time and check all over for any place that wiring could get rubbed through and all your connections are clean and tight. You would also want to disconnect battery negative while your doing this or it will log a bunch of other codes. Make sure all connection are corrosion free clean them as needed.

possible but the only place to do it would be an accredited freight liner service center or allison transmission shop
the main faults will be shown if you first get a fault code reading rather than resetting as resetting will not fix faulty sensors

I would suggest that it is taken to a freight liner service shop but I suggest that the code reading would indicate a fault in the wiring to the gear box. Possibly a fuse or a failed connection in the wiring or a faulty module for the gear box.
